Key Capabilities
AirGradient Go combines practical portability with data quality and openness, so it works for both everyday awareness and deeper analysis. It's the first multi-parameter, portable, weatherproof monitor with a built-in display so that you are independent of your smart phone.
Personal Multi-Parameter Monitoring
Track PM2.5, CO2, TVOC, and atmospheric pressure everywhere you go so that you know your or your loved-ones exact exposure to air pollution.
Route-Based Visualization
Replay where exposure changed across your day, then connect specific spikes to roads, intersections, enclosed spaces, or ventilation changes.
Built-In Display, GPS, and Local Storage
See on the e-ink display the current air quality. Keep sessions on-device and sync later. The AirGradient Go has been designed to work completely independently from your phone.
Weatherproof - Built for Daily Carry
Designed for repeated real-world use on commutes, school runs, field walks, and transit routes, not only desk demos or one-off tests. It's weatherpoof and survives the occasional rain-shower.
Air Quality Is Not Static
Small differences in ventilation, traffic, and distance from roads can change what you are exposed to, often within minutes. A single city-level value is useful context, but it does not fully describe personal exposure over a day.
Outdoors, AirGradient Go helps you track particulate matter exposure from traffic, urban pollution, and wildfire smoke while you move through different micro-environments. Indoors, it helps you track CO2 trends to understand ventilation quality for better focus and comfort in classrooms, offices, and homes, while TVOC and atmospheric pressure provide additional context for changing environmental conditions.
For fixed monitoring at home or buildings, see our indoor monitor and outdoor monitor pages. Together, portable and fixed measurements give a stronger picture of where exposure starts and how it propagates.
Built for Real-World Use
AirGradient Go is designed to move through the places that shape daily exposure, from workouts and commutes to everyday indoor environments. It can be placed on a table, mounted on a wall, or attached to your bag, with each setup designed to support accurate measurements. Please note some of below photos are with the prototype enclosure. The final enclosure will be semi-transparent. If you are curious about the final look, read our blog post.

Gyms and Fitness Spaces
See how ventilation and occupancy affect indoor air during exercise.

Daily Carry and Commutes
Bring monitoring into school runs, walks, cycling, and transit using the included carry bag with air flow openings.

Everyday Indoor Environments
Compare how indoor spaces differ across homes, cafes, offices, and other shared places.
Visualize Your Day - Privacy First
The AirGradient app turns measurements into a clear personal exposure story, so you can understand what happened, where it happened, and what to improve next.

In the app, you can review route overlays, timeline patterns, and repeated exposure behavior across different places and times. You can map route exposure on commutes, walks, and runs, track trends across weeks and months, identify pollution hotspots to avoid repeat exposure, and share recorded routes when needed.
For teams and communities, these repeated measurements can also support clearer discussions about exposure reduction strategies and practical interventions.
The AirGradient Go has been designed with privacy first. You can fully use it without sending any data to the cloud -just by utilizing the on-device or your phone storage. At the same time we offer the possibility to backup your data in the AirGradient cloud or share it publicly.
Scientific Performance. Easy to Use.
We selected sensors based on real-world performance and long-term stability - not what was easiest to shrink. At the same time, AirGradient Go is designed to be easy to use in daily life, with clear on-device feedback and a straightforward app workflow for review.
Building on our experience working alongside research institutions and community-driven monitoring initiatives, including open-seneca, directly informed the design of AirGradient Go.

Practical Use Cases
Examples where portable monitoring adds value beyond fixed-location sensors.

Daily Commute Profiling
Compare multiple commuting routes and departure times to choose lower-exposure options without relying on guesswork.
Family and School Runs
Understand how school pickup zones, drop-off traffic, and indoor waiting areas affect short but frequent exposure windows.
Field Walks and Community Activation
Collect route-based evidence during neighborhood walks, project assessments, or baseline surveys to support local decisions.
Office and Workspace Checks
Validate ventilation improvements by comparing repeated pre/post sessions across meeting rooms, corridors, and break areas.

Frequently Asked Questions
Short answers to common pre-launch questions.
Does it require a phone to record data?
No. AirGradient Go includes on-device storage and built-in GPS for standalone recording sessions.
Is this only for outdoor use?
No. It is useful both outdoors for PM exposure and indoors for ventilation awareness with CO2 trends, with TVOC and atmospheric pressure adding extra environmental context.
Can I use it as a stationary monitor too?
Yes. It can be used for stationary logging when you want to track one location over longer periods. For stationary use, the built-in WiFi connectivity can be used.
How can I place or carry AirGradient Go?
AirGradient Go can be placed on a table, mounted on a wall, or attached to your bag. These different setups are designed to support accurate measurements across everyday use cases.
Will hardware and firmware be open?
Yes. AirGradient Go follows the same open philosophy with open hardware and open firmware.
What about privacy and location data?
AirGradient Go is designed around user control. Sessions can be recorded on-device, and the product follows AirGradient's open hardware, open firmware, and no-lock-in approach so your measurements do not depend on a closed platform.
How can I follow launch updates?

The AirGradient Manifesto
This manifesto reflects our core values and the principles we stand for:
Positive Disruptor
We must be bold. We always follow our convictions and call out the issues that matter, sharing our views on topics surrounding air quality and environmental responsibility. We will not compromise for profit. We believe that open, informed, and candid discussions are the catalysts for meaningful change. We will lead by example and become a driving force for environmental monitoring.
Community Building
We want to raise awareness about air pollution through active community building with a strong focus on informing about the dangers of air pollution. We actively support environmental justice organisations and educational institutions in their missions to provide healthier environments for everyone.
Responsible Products
We will deliver benefits for both people and the planet. This is why we prioritise creating high-quality air quality monitors with designs that enable easy repairs and recycling, thereby extending the product's lifespan and reducing its environmental footprint.
Profit Follows Impact
To deliver positive impacts on the communities, and the environment, we must sustain our business model. However we will not prioritise profits above our convictions. We embed this rationale into our everyday decision-making processes throughout all layers of our company. (e.g. by joining 1% for the Planet).
Open Science and Research
Our research is driven by a commitment to environmental protection, not by profits. This is why we don't patent our air quality monitor designs but on the contrary, share them openly, allowing everyone to build them and to contribute to positive change. We do not lock users into proprietary eco-systems and we encourage sharing of air quality data and algorithms as a public good.
Transparency and Accessibility
AirGradient is built on a foundation of openness and inclusivity. We aim to make our products and services available to a wide range of users with a special focus on underrepresented communities. We strive to work with all organisations that want to make a positive contribution independent of their financial means.
